Ferdinand wants Manchester United to make a decision over Pogba’s future

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has urged the club to make a decision over the future of midfielder Paul Pogba. The Frenchman has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford over the past year and of late, agent Mino Raiola has ignited the speculation by confirming a meeting with Juventus regarding his client.

Speaking on BT Sport, Ferdinand said that United must resolve Pogba’s future with the club. He added that United are moving on the right path with the recent run of results but there is still a long way to go before they are back winning major trophies, he told: “Does he want to stay or go? Ole want to keep him? Once that’s ironed out you can build your team.

They understood as a group that it wasn’t going to happen overnight. I think this team are turning the corner but it’s a slow process. It’s not something we can look at and go right, “that’s a big change and Man United are back winning trophies. This is a slow burn, though, after a few years of topsy-turvy times.”

United have remained unbeaten for nine games on the bounce in all competitions. During this period, they have hugely impressed with the defensive displays and have kept seven clean sheets in the process. The goalscoring has also improved with an average of more than two goals per game but there is room for improvement when it comes to the Premier League matches.

The Red Devils have bagged 22 goals over the previous nine games but out of those, 16 have come from five Cup encounters. As such, they have managed just six goals from four league games, where they have accumulated a couple of draws. United are scheduled to host Manchester City in the Premier League this weekend.
