Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has sent a warning to Alexis Sanchez by stating that the Chilean must prove his worth to make the starting lineup. The 30-year-old has struggled to make a meaningful impact with the Red Devils since joining them from Arsenal 18 months ago and he is currently on the sidelines with a minor hamstring injury.

Speaking to The Mail, Solskjaer said that he wants to help Sanchez get back to the form replicated during his time at the Emirates. He added that he won’t spoon fee anyone and the players need to make the efforts to secure playing time, he told: “I will have to help. I’ve just answered a question here that you can’t spoon feed them. They’ve got to come in and grab their chances and Alexis is quality and he showed it in Copa America. Then he got his injury. I don’t think it’s too bad so I’m hoping he will be available for maybe Kristiansund or AC Milan so he will at least get some football before the season starts.”
